  • A high degree of upholstery skills with a minimum of 4 years experience
  • experience of some deep buttoning and modern upholstery techniques
  • the ability to produce a good quality product with excellent attention to detail
  • measuring and cutting skills would also be beneficial

  • upholstery: 3 years
  • experience: A minimum of one year of experience in upholstery work, with knowledge of furniture construction and various upholstery techniques
  • skills: Proficiency in fabric cutting, sewing, and padding application. Familiarity with upholstery tools and equipment
  • attention to Detail: A strong eye for detail and quality, with a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • physical Stamina: Ability to lift and handle furniture pieces as well as work in physically demanding conditions
  • experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in upholstery, preferably with high-end furniture
  • experience with Bespoke Furniture: Prior experience working with bespoke or custom-made furniture would be a plus
  • technical Skills: Strong understanding of upholstery techniques, including cutting, sewing, fabric selection, and traditional methods
  • knowledge of Bed Construction: Understanding of bed frames, headboards, and other components specific to beds would be advantageous

Responsibility


  • furniture Upholsterer with a minimum of 4 years experiences needed to join this growing high-end furniture manufacturer based in northwest London
  • looking for a strong team player with the ability to produce a good quality product with excellent attention to detail
  • repair & Restoration: Replace worn-out or damaged fabrics, padding, and webbing, restoring furniture to its original or improved condition
  • frame Inspection & Repair: Assess the structural integrity of furniture frames, performing repairs as needed to ensure durability
  • padding & Filling: Select appropriate padding and filling materials, applying them with precision to ensure comfort and aesthetic appeal
  • tool & Equipment Management: Maintain and operate upholstery tools and equipment safely, ensuring they are kept in good working condition
  • furniture Upholstery: Measure, cut, and sew fabrics to cover various types of furniture, including chairs, sofas, and custom pieces, ensuring a snug and appealing fit
  • quality Control: Inspect completed projects to guarantee they meet company standards for quality, fit, and finish
  • manage Inventory: Keep track of upholstery materials and ensure adequate supplies are available for production needs
  • follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workshop
  • provide Input: Offer suggestions for improving upholstery techniques, materials, and processes
  • collaborate with Design Team: Work closely with the design team to ensure customer specifications are accurately translated into the final product
  • maintain Tools: Keep upholstery tools and equipment in good working order, performing regular maintenance and cleaning
  • preparing walls ready for fabric with battens
  • use of tools effectively for cutting, sewing, and hanging fabric. Staple gun & sewing machine
  • able to work all over the UK and Internationally too. Sometimes we might fly to a location
  • happy to work on location; up ladders, occasionally scaffold towers
  • valid drivers licence
  • no prior fabric walling experience needed but must have upholstery background
  • happy to work away from home and staying over night in accommodation with others, your own room with be provided
