Requirements


  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work with multilingual content
  • bilingual or multilingual capabilities are advantageous
  • strong typing skills
  • proofreading: 3 years
  • minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in translation, pharmacy, nursing, or biotechnology
  • native level of written, verbal and comprehension skills in both Korean and English
  • cultural competency and excellent written and verbal communications skills in Korean and English
  • prior translation/proofreading experience with clinical trial/medical/Life Sciences-related documents is highly preferred
  • other education degrees in Life Sciences-related disciplines such as veterinary medicine, organic chemistry, biology or biochemistry can also be considered
  • excellent organizational and critical thinking skills
  • knowledge of common medical and hospital terms in Korea
  • capable of performing necessary research with a high level of logical and analytical thinking skills
  • experience with CAT tools and translation software
  • 2+ years of translation industry experience and/or a Master’s degree in translation
  • work experience with Contract Research Organizations as a Clinical Research Associate or a Clinical Research Coordinator is a strong plus
  • familiarity with the different forms of English locales, mainly UK English and US English, but also some exposure to Canadian English and Australian English
  • ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to learn and capable of working alone as well as being a team player in a group setting
  • A scrupulous approach to detail and methodical working style
  • motivation to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Responsibility


  • identify and correct spelling, grammar, and verbiage errors in complex legal documents
  • detect formatting and compositional errors in documents
  • check corrected proofs of legal documents against mark-up for comparison and quality assurance
  • assist the Document Services team with document production and preparation as needed
  • handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information
  • communicate with manager and client on job or deadline issues
  • adhere to Williams Lea policy in addition to client site policy
  • perform other duties as assigned

  • ● Participating in our regular team meetings, covering a range of aspects of the business

  • ensure requisitions and briefs contain all necessary information
  • review, evaluate, and correct written text, images , branding, consistency, and misrepresentation
  • assess work across all departments, spanning emails, ads, leaflets, brochures, social media, video, signage, and more
  • familiarise yourself with and apply brand guidelines
  • stay updated on language usage, grammatical developments, and new phrases
  • sub-edit or smooth text to maintain a consistent voice when necessary
  • to ensure courts have the best expert evidence with which to deal with cases justly
  • to ensure our expert input is seen as value for money
