Requirements

excellent communication skills
ability to work with multilingual content
bilingual or multilingual capabilities are advantageous
strong typing skills
proofreading: 3 years
minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in translation, pharmacy, nursing, or biotechnology
native level of written, verbal and comprehension skills in both Korean and English
cultural competency and excellent written and verbal communications skills in Korean and English
prior translation/proofreading experience with clinical trial/medical/Life Sciences-related documents is highly preferred
other education degrees in Life Sciences-related disciplines such as veterinary medicine, organic chemistry, biology or biochemistry can also be considered
excellent organizational and critical thinking skills
knowledge of common medical and hospital terms in Korea
capable of performing necessary research with a high level of logical and analytical thinking skills
experience with CAT tools and translation software
2+ years of translation industry experience and/or a Master’s degree in translation
work experience with Contract Research Organizations as a Clinical Research Associate or a Clinical Research Coordinator is a strong plus
familiarity with the different forms of English locales, mainly UK English and US English, but also some exposure to Canadian English and Australian English
ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to learn and capable of working alone as well as being a team player in a group setting

motivation to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Responsibility

identify and correct spelling, grammar, and verbiage errors in complex legal documents
detect formatting and compositional errors in documents
check corrected proofs of legal documents against mark-up for comparison and quality assurance
assist the Document Services team with document production and preparation as needed
handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information
communicate with manager and client on job or deadline issues
adhere to Williams Lea policy in addition to client site policy
perform other duties as assigned

familiarise yourself with and apply brand guidelines
stay updated on language usage, grammatical developments, and new phrases
sub-edit or smooth text to maintain a consistent voice when necessary
to ensure courts have the best expert evidence with which to deal with cases justly
to ensure our expert input is seen as value for money
