Requirements


  • A degree level qualification in a bioscience or clinical/healthcare subject is essential
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification and/or experience in an STM publishing environment would be an advantage

Responsibility


  • consult editors, translators make proposals in the case of any omissions or discrepancies between the original and the translated text
  • you will be responsible for reviewing and editing Best Practice topic updates
  • you will play a crucial role in sourcing peer reviewers and ensuring the smooth running of our peer review process
  • you will also help to support the commissioning process for Best Practice content
  • you will be involved in various stages of the publication process, including identifying relevant clinical guidelines and liaising with our expert medical contributors
  • managing book and prize submissions
  • maintaining internal systems
  • proofreading book covers
  • preparing editorial material for the sales, communications and rights teams
  • researching book ideas
  • offering feedback on book proposals and manuscripts
  • providing general office administration e.g. booking meeting rooms, arranging couriers, minuting meetings, processing expenses, processing invoices, sending out proof mailings, arranging for author advanced copies
  • support the Senior Content Editors and Content Editor with recipe testing for key projects
  • act as the point of contact for all recipe usage queries, demonstrating a brilliant knowledge of our culinary back-catalogue
  • craft regular online features and newsletters under the guidance of the Senior Content Editors, overseeing the entire process
  • assist in creating, managing, and updating editorial content calendars for online and offline platforms
  • research content for features and newsletters, curating content for the online homepage and recipe of the day
  • upload new recipes to the database, website, and associated digital platforms, ensuring accurate records of recipe usage
  • collaborate with the Editorial Team, pulling, formatting, and updating content to support the wider business
  • contribute to the ongoing project of editing and updating our back-catalogue of recipes, ensuring a seamless user experience
