Responsibility

  • the Content Reviewer joins the editorial team at Global Practice Guides at Chambers
  • copyedit articles to ensure grammar and spelling is correct and house style applied to content written by lawyers
  • ensure firm and author profiles are produced according to product guidelines
  • content Reviewers liaise with the Coordination team to ensure that law firms are provided with a high-quality review of chapters and accompanying profiles
  • copyediting thought leadership pieces and Q&A-style comparative content across 90+ practice areas and sectors, the successful candidate will join a dynamic team preparing content for online publication
  • as a copy editor and proofreader, you will perform final quality checks on English reports derived from materials in other languages
  • your role will involve providing feedback and coaching to the diverse team of report writers, ensuring the highest standard of linguistic accuracy and financial comprehension
  • this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the quality assurance process and make a tangible difference in the final deliverables to clients
  • organisation is also vital. You will be responsible for your workload and will be assigned output targets
  • performing first-round edits of articles, ensuring production of well-written and factually correct articles
  • copy-editing of manuscripts for language and readability, in-house style training is provided
  • checking factual content and raising queries with managing editor when needed
  • assessing authors responses to edits and comments
  • once experienced, performing second round edits
  • edit and proofread copy submitted by native and non-native English speakers for our legal handbooks and journals
  • copy-edit content and maintain author information using our content management system
  • apply house style for our different brands
  • reword text sensitively without altering the meaning and raise queries for authors where necessary
  • organise and manage workload to meet tight deadlines
  • collaborate with the content coordination and production teams, and other departments, to ensure copy is edited, approved and sent to press on time
