Responsibility
we are looking for support workers that are passionate, flexible and love supporting young people
we are looking for passionate, flexible and playful support workers
you would be working within activity groups for different age ranges
the aim of these groups is to support and encourage children to improve their social skills and become more independent
your role would be crucial in making sure children with disabilities have access to quality play and leisure opportunities
hours of working would be casual initially, but after training you will have guaranteed weekly hours
and providing support to families and their children on a 1:1 basis evenings and weekends
the timings of the sessions would be mainly be after-school/evenings and weekends during the term time and durning the week in school holidays and weekends; hours are flexible and can be fit around other commitments you have
Requirements
have experience of working with children aged 0 to 19, with a range of disabilities and complexity of needs
hold a relevant qualification or considerable relevant experience with in the field
have a current Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS certificate
you will be supporting children and young people with disabilities age range from
male and female staff required, DBS preferred but not essential, training will be given
support work: 1 year
be an excellent communicator, with good written record-keeping skills, as you will be required to write short session reports and monitor progress
0 to 18 years, Ability to work on your own initiative in professional manor while on supports with your young people and also willingness to work in group sessions when needed
