Responsibility
- construct, assemble, and install wooden structures and fixtures according to specifications
- measure and mark materials for cutting and shaping
- cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials using hand tools and power tools
- install hardware such as hinges, handles, and locks
- fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, and staircases
- build scaffolding and other temporary structures as needed
- ensure all work is completed accurately and meets quality standards
Requirements
- proven experience as a joiner or carpenter
- roof construction and repair experience is a plus
- proficient in working with various materials including wood, masonry, and metal
- ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- strong knowledge of joinery techniques and woodworking principles
- knowledge of masonry work for bricklaying or tiling projects
- ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- painting skills for finishing surfaces as required
