Responsibility

  • part-Time Bookkeeper / Administrator at Barnes Mechanical Engineering Ltd
  • manage and maintain up to date financial records in the company’s accounting software, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • process and record financial transactions, invoices, payments, and receipts promptly and efficiently
  • reconcile bank statements and other financial documents
  • prepare financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets, to provide valuable insights for decision-making processes
  • handle payroll processing and assist in the preparation of VAT return’s liaising with the company’s accountant
  • support the administrative team with various tasks, including organising office operations, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence
  • collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless cross-functional operations

Requirements

  • AAT Level 3
  • experience with Sage, Dext, Microsoft 365 & Excel
  • familiarity with engineering industry-specific regulations or practices
  • proven experience as a Bookkeeper in a similar accounting/administrative role with expertise in CIS accounting
  • strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, particularly in relation to CIS
  • excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
  • exceptional time management and multitasking abilities
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the team
