Your New Role We have fantastic opportunities for Permanent Highways Maintenance Operatives to join our NMC SW Account in Polmadie. The salary is to be discussed in interview, with overtime available. Our NMC SW is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest since August 2020, we are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery as well as winter maintenance and incident response. The team are first on the scene to assist road users on the road network, deliver engineering design and operational delivery services for more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures enabling reliable journey times and a high level of customer care for the people and businesses that use these roads every day. By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities. Highways Maintenance Operatives play an integral part in the installation of temporary traffic management and all aspects of highway maintenance works. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Highways Maintenance Operative Apprentice to join Amey’s Area 12 Team. Starting Salary: £21,244 Hours per week: 40 Location: Tingley, Leeds WF3 1SW Amey is working in partnership with Area 12 Highways England since June 2021. Area 12 is made up of 476km dual carriageway, 179km single carriageway and 1,963 structures. We provide routine, cyclic and winter maintenance and response across Yorkshire and Humberside, also overseeing traffic management during incidents and the operation of the ten maintenance depots in the region. Ensuring our roads are well- maintained and well- managed, through all-weather seasons we aim to help reduce traffic incidents and severity of road accidents as well as ensure road user of Yorkshire and Humberside feel safer As an Apprentice, every day will be different! One day, you might be working on installing traffic management systems, the next you might be working on minor civil works like temporary patching or ditching.
