- perform light maintenance tasks and minor repairs of fixtures and fittings
- minor plumbing including unblocking sinks and drains
- maintain appearance of premises, ensuring they are clean and tidy at all times
- undertake cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning toilet, cleaning of windows and other task as required
- age UK South Lakeland are looking for a committed Handy Person / Cleaner with proven DIY skills to support the maintenance of a popular shop/office building in Kendal
- assist with deliveries and portage duties
- hold keys and open premises for trading hours
- travel within the region to support maintenance of retail properties
Requirements
- good DIY skills for general maintenance
- knowledge of health and safety procedures, COSHH regulations and hygiene practices
- basic literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to check delivery notes, measurements etc
- comfortable handling and carrying items
