Responsibility

  • ensure that all food safety and hygiene regulations are met and maintained
  • work closely with the events co-ordinator to speak to clients about their food requirements for their events
  • oversee the food offering for the cafe
  • working with the management team and Executive Chef, lead the kitchen team to produce high-quality, innovative, and delicious menus for small weddings and corporate events
  • manage all aspects of the kitchen, including inventory management, food preparation, and quality control. Work closely with the external consulting team to develop and implement new menus and concepts
  • provide training and support to the kitchen team to ensure they are well-equipped to deliver top-quality cuisine. Monitor and control kitchen costs, including food waste and labor costs, to ensure that targets are met
  • work together with the owners/management team to build a long-term vision for the growth of the company with the opening of additional sites

Requirements

  • experienced chef, ideally in a busy events venue or high-end restaurant environment
  • excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and suppliers
  • management experience or experience in a role as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef is preferred, but not essential. This role would equally suit someone looking to progress their career into a more senior role
  • excellent knowledge of food preparation and presentation, as well as menu planning and design. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • catering: 5 years
  • up-to-date knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. Creative and innovative approach to cooking, with a passion for new trends and flavours
