Responsibility
- you should have experience both buying from an approved suppliers list and searching the market for potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and lead times
- you should be able to manage your suppliers using on-time delivery, quality and cost metrics ensuring the best fit with our business
- you will also have experience of Materials planning, raising Manufacturing and Sub Con Orders to ensure finished goods are planned to be produced in line with the customer requirements as highlighted by MRP
- this is an interesting and varied role that will call for you to have excellent interpersonal, strong relationship building, communication and influencing Skills
- attention to detail and high standards of accuracy are critical for this position, as is the ability to put the customers’ needs and expectations at the heart of the role
- on occasion you may be required to work out of hours which will be either as paid overtime or to have time off in lieu as agreed
- from MRP-based reports, obtain competitive quotations from suppliers where possible and place appropriate purchase orders
- to monitor and manage your top suppliers
