- part-time - 15 hours per week, term time plus 6 weeks

- ● Supervision of the Cleaner at Spaxton School and undertake any additional cleaning duties to support
- carrying out minor repairs such as mending broken windows, changing light bulbs and scheduling heating times
- working across and travelling between two Trust Primary Schools - business mileage expenses payable in accordance with current HMRC rates
- making sure the premises are clean and that rubbish is collected and taken away, and any graffiti is cleaned up
- maintaining the grounds and removing litter
- repair all defects within own competence
- repair door handles, door closures, shelving, display boards, locks, basic painting and decorating, window latches
- carry out regular checks of grounds and ensure that everything is in good working order
- if there is a major fault, report to Headteacher
- hours: 3:30pm-5.30pm plus 5 hours
- salary: Actual pro-rated salary £8,905 - £9,053
- carry out any additional duties as required by the Headteachers or Office Managers
- ordering of basic stock – toilet paper, light bulbs etc
- temporary boarding up of windows, removal of dangerous glass, making areas safe in the event of a hazard arising
- comply with the school’s Health and Safety Policy
- to undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade, and/or hours of work, as may reasonably be required
- the Caretaker will ensure that all boundary areas / walls, entrances and exits are secure at all times
- adhere to and promote the School’s policies on Equality and Diversity
- the Caretaker will undertake pruning and planting periodically, as directed by the Office Manager and ensure that the flower beds are watered as needed
- employees will be expected to comply with any reasonable requests from a manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description
- be able to attend relevant health and safety training as provided by the Schools in order to carry out the duties of the post
- fitting toilet roll holders, soap dispensers and paper towel mechanisms
- to undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Headteacher or Chair of Governors
- participate in health and safety testing and checks as required
- maintain site security including unlocking the site buildings as required and locking up at the end of the day. This includes setting building alarms
- water management records
- regular Fire Alarm Tests and other tests
- at the start of each working day the Caretaker will be responsible for doing a site check alerting the Office Manager to any matter requiring urgent attention
- maintain site security including locking and unlocking the various internal and external buildings
- prudent stock levels of necessary consumable items such as tissues, soaps, fluorescent tubes, batteries etc
- read the utility meters each month and report readings to the Office Manager
- undertake all work in accordance with health and safety legislation and the School’s procedures
- to comply with General Data Protection Regulations and maintain awareness of Trust policies and procedures in this area
- the post-holder must at all times carry out their responsibilities with due regard to Trust policy, organisation and arrangements for Health and Safety at work
Requirements
- good standard of literacy and numeracy. NVQ2 in teaching
