- public Health Nursing for Slough are looking for a motivated registered nurse to join our dynamic and innovative 0-19 service

- this is a full-time job with a salary equivalent to AFC Band 5 of £28,407.75 to £34,580.70 inclusive of NHS Fringe Weighitng allowace and depending on experience

- main Duties
- to participate in clinical, peer and management supervision
- the specific accountabilities of this role will be flexible and will change to meet the needs of the organisation
- to work as part of the public health team in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme
- to work on own initiative, planning, prioritising and organising own workload, supported by senior public health nurses
- support the delivery of a ‘child focused service’ which promotes good partnership working with parents, nurseries, Children’s Centres and other agencies
- to provide support for identified health needs in the community, in relation to national and local agenda
- to deliver the role specific elements of the Universal Healthy Child Programme
- contributing and participating in the delivery of a comprehensive Health Visiting service in line with the Healthy Child Programme and local service specifications and service model for health visiting that meets the public health needs of local communities
- to develop and maintain partnership working with children, young people and their families
- develop practice in response to the changing needs of specific groups in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct
- the post holder will work alongside our health visitors and school nurses to deliver the Healthy Child Programme to families with children aged 0-19
- contributing to the delivery of Working Together to Safeguard Children , including improving health and life chances for children and families and safeguarding those at risk
- to facilitate partnership working across; health, education and social care
- to support families in understanding key developmental milestones, including gross and fine motor skills
- with support from senior member of the team, the Community Staff Nurse will assist in the development of the service and work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective universal health provision for children and young people attending schools in Slough
- to safeguard children and young people
- to adhere to the NMC code and maintain NMC registration as required, working within all NMC guidelines relating to current practice
- to remain up to date with mandatory and statutory training requirements

- maintain accurate contemporaneous clinical records
- to attend and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings as appropriate

- A child is someone under the age of 18
- participate in the evaluation and review of the post with team manager and service lead
- maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing administrative and statistical records, regularly providing management with returns and statistics as requested and required by Solutions4health, ensuring legal requirements are met
- facilitate/deliver training sessions where identified health needs require training for non-medical school staff
- work within a framework that actively supports clinical governance principles. Participate in activities relating to the promotion of the quality of services including audits
- participate actively in neighborhood multi-agency and multi professional planning meetings
- work flexibly to meet the needs of the local population. This will include some evening and occasional weekend work
- to delegate appropriate tasks effectively to health care assistants and nursery nurses; advising and reviewing tasks as required
- to attend and actively participate in team, locality and other relevant meetings
- manage own workload, reporting issues to the Clinical Team Leader, when difficulties arise, offering solutions where possible
Requirements
- BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development
- CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education
- NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development
