Responsibility
- enable children/young people to establish their own identity within their home environment
- support children/young people to pursue appropriate interests of their choice while ensuring their safety and well-being
- assist children/young people in maintaining meaningful relationships with those important to them
- help children/young people establish, develop, and maintain relationships and social networks outside of the home
- provide opportunities for children/young people to learn, develop, and reach their full potential through access to education and enriching experiences
- promote the health and well-being of children/young people while raising awareness of factors that can impact their well-being
- advocate for and respect the racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds of the children/young people
- ensure that the wishes and feelings of children/young people are considered in all aspects of their daily care and in accordance with their age and understanding
Requirements
- level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification
- PACE therapeutic parenting program
- advanced Attachment Training
- knowledge of child development and attachment theories
- experience in managing and de-escalating challenging behavior
- understanding of Equality and Diversity
- training in Team Teach approaches
- training in safeguarding children and young people
