Responsibility
- maintain, service, and repair all plant machinery and equipment
- carrying out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
- the maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment, including facilities

- providing maintenance to the facilities such as electrical and plumbing repairs
- assist with the installation of new machinery onsite
- responding to machine breakdowns
- undertaking planned preventative maintenance of plant and ensure staff are trained to diagnose breakdown problems
- attending to breakdowns and repairing mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment
- carry out preventative maintenance on the equipment as required
- working on projects to improve facilities
- working on overhead cranes, PLC controlled equipment and inverter drives
- working on manufacturing machinery such as CNCs and moulding machines
- carry out fault finding and troubleshooting activities
- fitting new parts and ensure equipment is working correctly
- fault finding on PLCs and ideally programming when required
- proactively work to continuously improve process, equipment efficiency and reduce waste
- tend to breakdowns and repairs
- keeping maintenance records
- carrying out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
- working on improvement projects
- complete visual checks on machinery and equipment to ensure compliance
- liaising with contractors when needed
- carrying out systematic review of plant
- communicating all information thoroughly across all shifts and departments
- working to KPI's set by Engineering Manager
- track an inventory of spare parts
- plan maintenance on equipment between production requirements
- reporting any unsafe equipment immediately to management and making safe where possible
- report any defects or faults to management
- designing maintenance strategies, procedures in order to control and improve health and safety standards for safe machine operation
- adhering to all health and safety and environment legislation at all times
- adhere to Health and Safety regulations at all times
- continuously work to improve the site facilities
- working at heights
- identifying and repairing PLCs breakdowns
- ensure all relevant documentation is complete and accurate
- controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
- working to lean manufacturing standards and assist with audit of engineering workshop area
- actively carry out cost control
- interpreting electrical diagrams
- working to health and safety regulations
- assist with continuous improvement activities
- skills and Experience
- multi-skilled maintenance engineer – ideally electrically bias
- support with the installation of new equipment
- working on plumbing, electrical and building issues
- purchase equipment and parts to ensure all breakdowns can be repaired immediately
- driving forklift when required
- the successful applicant must be a grade C and above or equivalent in Mathematics
- experience fault finding and repairing pneumatics, hydraulics and ideally PLCs and robots
- working on projects of improvement
- perform cost saving activities through improved design of equipment and supplier sourcing
- assisting management with Continuous Improvement projects
- you must also have a real interest in the role and environment as the role will involve working with Machinery
- previously worked in a high-volume manufacturing environment such as food manufacturing, FMCG or Automotive
- out of hours support
- putting forward improvement ideas where possible
Requirements
- must have previous experience resolving electrical and mechanical breakdowns on manufacturing / production machinery
- previous experience working as a Multiskilled Engineer
- previously worked on maintaining facilities – ideally in a manufacturing environment

- must hold minimum Level 2 NQV qualification or above in a relevant engineering discipline
- ideally be electrically bias, however mechanical bias engineers will still be considered
- relevant Mechanical or Electrical qualification would be beneficial but bot essential
- relevant Mechanical or Electrical qualification will be essential
- plumbing / carpentry / electrical or mechanics qualification
- multiskilled or electrically bias time served engineer
- ideally hold 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations
- previous experience repairing electrical and mechanical faults
- 17th edition or above wiring regulations would be advantageous but not essential
- must hold 17th edition or above wiring regulations
- hold relevant qualifications in engineering discipline
- able to use hand tools and repair basic building issues
- previously worked on cranes/ hoist equipment
- mechanical or electrical bias accepted
- manufacturing industry experience required
- be process driven with a continuous improvement mind-set
- manual handling
- PLC and inverter drive knowledge would be beneficial
- PLC fault finding and repair would be advantageous
- PLC experience would be beneficial but not essential
- intermediate level of computer literacy
- ideally hold a FLT license – not essential
- good written and verbal communication
- flexible to work weekends on occasion
