there is the requirement to be able to cover in other Corby Children Centre bases as and when required
to act as receptionist for the Centre, to include operation of telephone system, meeting and greeting all parents, external agencies, and visitors to the Centre
to be the first port of call at the Centre, and provide information to parents and families on services available either at the Centre or through partner agencies including early education, childcare, health, family support and other services for families with children under five
to administer the internal and external booking of all rooms within the Centre; to include contact visits, parent bookings, staff bookings, and bookings from other agencies
inputting of Children Centre Registration forms
the successful candidate will be expected to adhere to all our safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety policies and procedures
Requirements
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject and/or
proven experience as an administrative assistant
willing to undertake further training
experience of reception duties in a busy environment, displaying excellent organisational skills
experience of handling data e.g. data entry, collating and maintaining data
experience of using a range of office equipment/ technology
general knowledge and understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations 2018

specific Responsibilities include
full line management responsibility for all finance support staff within Pen Green Centre and Pen Green Research Base
the job holder will be part of the strategic Centre Leadership Team and will be expected to contribute to the overall strategic and operational management of the financial provision for Pen Green Centre and Pen Green Research Base
to supervise, co-ordinate and maintain the accounting systems during the year, e.g
to establish and maintain links with the Local Authority financial section to ensure the integrity of Pen Green Centre and Research Base finance systems
to keep up to date with and to analyse changes in financial regulations and legislation and to advise the Joint Heads of Centre accordingly
to prepare annual revenue budgets and any capital programmes within the strategy approved by the Joint Heads of Centre and to specific deadlines
to provide reports on financial matters and statistical returns nationally and locally in accordance with agreed time scales and ensuring all income generated is calculated in a timely manner
Requirements
good standard of academic education to Degree or equivalent
relevant accounting qualification i.e. ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA
experience of completing statutory returns
experience of company/trust formation
comprehensive understanding of VAT
2 years’ experience in professional accountancy
supervisory experience of professional accountancy staff and/or administrative staff
experience of using a variety of computerised systems and spreadsheets
