PCE AUTOMATION is looking for employees for positions:
technical author
Responsibility
- production of a variety of technical documents including; Operator and maintenance manuals, illustrated parts lists and design documentation
- developing document illustrations using photographs, CAD models and other manufacturer’s literature
- carrying out various other administrative tasks assigned to the authoring department
- the following list is an indication of the responsibilities that the Technical Author is expected to undertake. The list is not exhaustive and is intended as guidance only
- ensure that suitable records inc. photography of completed machines, has been captured and suitably stored upon the PCE Group network
- working closely with our design department, you will be required to produce the project design documentation including Functional, Software and Hardware Design Specifications
- assisting mechanical and electrical engineers during the design and build process, to gain sufficient subject knowledge to be able to develop the associated documentation
- coordinate with Software and Commissioning Project Lead, to obtain and present technical data such as Set Points, Alarms and controls, within the manual documentation
Requirements
- the following list is an indication of the skills that the Technical Author will possess, in fulfilment of the position
- proven experience of using Technical Author/Writing skills, to create written detailed and user friendly, instruction documentation
- identify and understand the requirements of the internal customer
- ideally with some form of engineering background, you should be able to understand general engineering principles and processes
- all round proficiency in communication
- the ability to work on your own initiative from an outline brief
- maintaining a clean paper free working environment
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
