Responsibility
- oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5 years
- develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices that align with regulatory requirements and best practices in early childhood education
- lead a team of dedicated staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure a cohesive and motivated workforce
- conduct regular quality assurance audits to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, health and safety regulations, and internal standards
- manage the nursery budget, ensuring financial sustainability and effective resource allocation
- foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and creativity amongst staff to enhance the quality of care and education provided
- stay up-to-date with current research, trends, and best practices in early childhood education, implementing relevant changes to enhance the nursery's offerings
- maintain strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns or queries in a timely and professional manner
Education
- GCSE or equivalent
Requirements
- strong background in quality assurance, with experience in conducting audits and implementing improvements
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and external stakeholders
- A thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in early childhood education
- strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
- excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- A passion for providing high-quality care and education to young children, with a commitment to continuous professional development
- minimum of 2 years' experience as a Nursery Manager, with a proven track record of successfully managing a nursery or early years setting
- an understanding of financial management and budgeting principles
