Requirements


  • relevant qualification
  • previous UK experience working within a similar role
  • CSCS or SSSTS
  • minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate or similar H&S Qualification
  • previous EHS experience / proven background in an industrial, process driven or engineering setting
  • experience of Confined Space Entry Permits and General Permit to Work
  • excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards for food production
  • experience of conducting Risk Assessment including ergonomics, DSE, COSHH, Fire Risk Assessment, PUWER Risk Assessment
  • A minimum level 3 recognised academic or vocational qualification in a Health & Safety discipline
  • EHS legislation - knowledge
  • experience within an FMCG operation
  • 3 years' experience minimum
  • experience of carrying out risk assessments and audits and participating in the rollout of corrective actions

  • experience of undertaking food hygiene inspections and responding to service requests
  • obtained an Environmental Health Board of Registration Certificate /CIEH Registered status

Responsibility


  • working with the supervisor to ensure risk assessments are in place and up to date
  • A point of contact for health and safety questions
  • coordinate quarterly Depot Health and Safety Committee meetings and provide advice and support to the chair of the Depot Health and Safety Committee
  • ensure general administration of the Health and Safety service is carried out in an accurate and timely manner
  • ensure the Employee and Councillor protection registers are maintained and disseminated as required
  • completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires for tenders
  • liaising with local authorities and statutory bodies such as HSE as required
  • carrying out accident investigations and produce reports
  • any other duties required to fulfil the requirements of the position
