greet patients and visitors to the practice
receive highly sensitive and confidential information and ensure strict confidentiality at all times
book in, amend and cancel patient appointment in-line with practice appointments procedures ensuing optimum efficiency of the appointment system
£13.57 per hour
this includes adhering to Information Governance, GDPR, and appropriate record maintenance and security
ensure that patients are effectively signposted into appropriate slots as per protocol and clinician specification
facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
promptly answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly

Requirements

knowledge/experience of working as a receptionist
communicate effectively with patients and carers
communicate effectively with other team members
NVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent
excellent communication and customer care skills
acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
recognise people’s needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly
basic level of understanding of primary care and clerical services within general practice including clinical information systems e.g. EMIS system
