- the Finance Manager will assist in producing financial information about business performance, cashflows and costs
- the main duties include
- the role covers 3 UK entities and whilst based in Thirsk, occasional travel to other sites is required
- monthly reconciliation of transactions
- hands-on accounting and financial reporting for the business and their subsidiary companies
- calculation of payroll and salary reporting
- production of accounts for 2 group companies to tight deadlines, including intercompany recharges and all balance sheet reconciliations
- managing and submitting VAT returns
- preparation of monthly management accounts and Board Packs
- preparation of monthly management accounts
- monthly reconciliation of General Ledger Control Accounts
- production of timely, accurate management information
- monthly journal preparation and posting
- assist the FC in providing up to date and accurate financial information in relation to school/academy income generation and expenditure
- involvement in the weekly cash flow forecasting process
- investigation into reasons for variations, correcting processes where applicable
- prepare annual budgets
- monthly management accounts with supporting analysis and KPIs

- the Finance Manager will be a role with great autonomy, with a voice to influence the business at director level in a family run distribution business

- reporting into the newly appointed head of finance you will manage a small finance team whilst also maintaining responsibility for financial reporting within the UK group
- with a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to communicate well to the many stakeholders within the operation, the Finance Manager will be responsible for a small accounts team reporting directly to the Managing Director based in Leeds and the FD based in the international group

- this will be the No.1 finance position in a business which will be going through it's first audit this financial year, so experience operating in a similar role within an audited business, or accountancy practice working within audit, would be a great benefit

- project analysis, such as pricing and profitability analysis
- assist in the production of monthly accounts, budget statements, or other reports and updates on any aspects of the role, advising and providing analysis or commentary when required
- this role is based on the outskirts of Bradford with the opportunity to work from home for 2 days per week
- ensuring continuous audit readiness and assisting with audit activities and year-end preparations
- compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules on Client Account monies
- pension administration and reconciliation
- sage/Xero experience would be an advantage
- direct supervision of 2 staff
- support for forecasts and budgeting activities
Requirements
- proven experience in financial reporting and analysis
- experience is a manufacturing / stock environment would be advantageous
- ACA or ACCA qualified accountant
