Responsibility
- provide effective and inspirational leadership, supervision and support to a team of staff working in the therapeutic children's home
- actively contribute in team meetings and other activities as required
- work within an EDI framework, adhere to all the organisation's policies, procedures and working practices
- ensure that the home meets all legislative and regulatory requirements, including those of Ofsted, and that all staff adhere to policies and procedures
- ensure that appropriate risk assessments are undertaken and that all staff are aware of and adhere to risk management procedures
- develop and maintain positive relationships with children, their families and other stakeholders, including local authorities, education and health professionals
- ensure that the home operates within its financial budget and that all financial procedures are followed
Requirements
- you will be creative, solution focused and always playful at heart
- and if that isn’t enough, you can extend this to your staff team even when they’ve not been at their best
- flexibility to work unsocial hours and participate in the on-call rota
- significant experience of managing and leading teams in a children's residential setting
- enhanced DBS clearance
- excellent leadership, management and supervisory skills
- experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma
- knowledge of therapeutic approaches to working with children, such as attachment theory
