Responsibility
- our paper recycling business is seeking an experienced HGV mechanic to join our team in East Kilbride
- you will be accountable for ensuring that the vehicles are on the roads servicing our customer base
- as an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of HGV vehicles to ensure they are in excellent condition and can operate safely on the roads
- your main duties will include conducting regular maintenance checks, diagnosing and repairing faults, and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard
- assist with Special projects if required
- maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the Workshop
- adopt the company safety culture and effective housekeeping, including wearing of PPE at all times in Workshop and Yard areas
Requirements
- A relevant mechanical qualification or equivalent experience
- A valid HGV licence is preferred
- experience working with HGV vehicles and their associated systems, such as hydraulics, electrics, and brakes
- strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
