- we are looking for Residential Child Care Workers to join our Care staff team, which operates all year round
- we are seeking two Residential Child Care Worker to join our Care team on a part-time employed basis
- A driving licence allowing the use of our vehicles is essential

- candidates who hold qualifications in line with the SSSC registration requirements for residential child care workers (e.g
- we currently work with children of primary up to early secondary stage, both on a day and all-year-round residential basis, and have recently extended our services to young people up to the age of 18
- the main focus of the role is to contribute to a culture and ethos in which the needs of the children are paramount, and to provide them with security, safety, care and social development to enable them to reach their potential
- harmeny is situated in a beautiful 35-acre woodland estate, which includes residential and education accommodation, community garden, orchard, wildlife habitats and children’s play areas

- applicants should be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council in line with the requirements for residential child care workers, or they will need to register within the first six months of employment
- this is calculated using a full-time equivalent salary of £26,130 to £33,409
- the post holder will contribute to the creation of a culture and ethos in which the needs of the children are paramount and provide them with security, safety, care and social development to enable them to reach their potential

- the post-holders will be responsible for all childcare needs through the night as well as the informal management and organisation of the Care Nights team
- an allowance for working nights of £2,676 to £3,421 is also payable in addition to the part-time salary
- the successful candidates will work 39 hours per week, working five days from seven, according to a rota system. Evening and weekend work is required
- this is an excellent opportunity for qualified or part-qualified Residential Child Care Workers to join an established and successful organisation. We are also happy to consider applications on an unqualified basis
- the successful candidates will work an average of 137 nights per year on a rota basis, on a six nights on / 10 nights off pattern, 10pm-7.30am
- applicants should be registered, or will need to register within the first six months of employment, with the Scottish Social Services Council in line with the requirements for residential child care workers

- provide direct support, guidance and line management to the Night Awake Workers on all childcare and health and safety matters that occur through the night
- undertake domestic and food preparation duties as directed, and ensure that others in the team also do so.Undertake induction and other relevant training as required to fulfil the duties of the post and maintain SSSC registration
- implement management decisions, consistent with the Harmeny and cottage plans, policies and procedures
- support the Care Management Team with the implementation of management decisions, consistent with the Harmeny and cottage plans, policies and procedures
- attend regular staff and children’s meetings as required
- support with the Residential Team Manager with the implementation of management decisions, consistent with the Harmeny and cottage plans, policies and procedures
- successful unqualified candidates will be offered the opportunity to be supported via a Modern Apprentice or College learning pathway, allowing them to draw on their practice experience and training at Harmeny
- care for the children’s everyday requirements and to help create a homely, caring and safe environment for all the children at Harmeny
- undertake domestic and food preparation duties as directed, and ensure that others in the team also do so
