Requirements
- have relevant Quantity Surveying experience within a Construction or Facilities Management environment
- possess either a Third Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying or demonstrate a level of experience obtained working in a comparable role
- knowledge of alternative Schedules of rates
- essential Criteria
- demonstrate experience of using the Building PSA schedule of rates
- good operational planning and time management skills
- have significant relevant Quantity Surveying experience approx. 3 years
- demonstrate experience of working on MTC contracts
Responsibility
- optimize project / contract profitability
- preparation of original cost estimates, bills of quantity and cost reviews at various stages of project design and construction
- provide cost and value engineering advice through the development of the project
- review of contract documentation submitted by main contractor, and identify issues, risks, and opportunities
- negotiate construction prices with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive bidding
- manage the appointment of any sub-contractors, ensuring procurement is in line with business procedures and sub-contract covers the scope of works
- preparation of valuations
- pricing of contract variations
