workshop engineer
Working hours
- full-time | Permanent
Responsibility
- the contracted hours for our engineers are 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday
- many of our engineers choose to do overtime which is not limited and is paid at time and a half
- \*\*pay is negotiable depending on experience\*\
- working at our main depot in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, under the supervision of the Workshop Manager, our Workshop Engineers carry out a wide range of refurbishment programs on all types of materials handling equipment, from small electric pallet trucks to large diesel and gas engine forklifts and side loaders
- they are also often required to service and inspect equipment, ensuring that all equipment meets the high quality and safety standards expected, prior to delivery
- be proactive when maintaining trucks and following workshop programs, ensuring that all repairs are carried out in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
- carry out routine maintenance and PDI Inspections of new and used equipment
Requirements
- mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience preferred
- experience of Health & Safety requirements working in a workshop practice
- commitment to continuing personal and professional development
- excellent organisational skills
- A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
- ability to multi‐task
- mechanical engineering: 3 years
- ability to work independently or in a team
