Had the same experience as other, paid call out, promised parts to fix washing machine, then nothing. Not sure if I will get my money back. Scammer for sure.
I repeat the warnings of other reviewers - avoid Lewis Bailey as a tradesman. He came to repair a fridge freezer that had a faulty exit door on the ice chute. He came on 9 December 24 and said the fault lay with a printed circuit board (PCB) which he would order that evening with next day delivery. He was paid £88. Three days later I received a message saying that, after further thought, the fault lay with the ice chute assembly which he had ordered and would arrive early the following week. I have heard nothing from him since, telephone calls and messages left for him go unanswered, same with text messages. I have started action to retrieve my money. The fault has been sorted by a reputable tradesman, since.
We contacted Lewis on 11/03/25 & had a same day text reply offering a next day appointment. 12/03/25 No fault could be found by Lewis upon initial inspection of our fridge freezer, he then made a secondary inspection & then found that the issue may lay with a faulty sensor or 2 (1 of which was frozen solid when he saw it), he advised that it’ll be better to replace both & that it’ll cost £27.99 for the parts that needed ordering on a next day delivery + the £88 for his call out, we paid & off he toddled. 2 days later we text him to inform him that we’d paid him for the parts, he confirmed receipt with thanks, we then had radio silence until the morning of the 18/03/25 when we again initiated contact with Lewis but this time for an update, surprisingly he offered a same day visit to fit the parts to which we obviously agreed to.
After said sensors were replaced & the fridge freezer was switched back on by Lewis he suggested that if we have anymore issues with our appliance just to contact him. He also said to pass on his details to anyone we know of looking for appliance repairs, this I’m now doing but not to aid him, because our freezer isn’t working, he’s radio silent again and the Mrs is pursuing through her bank and trading standards.
Another victim of Lewis' 'call out and ghost' scam here. Sometimes tradies can't fix something and still need to make a do a call out charge and that's totally fair.
But I'd told Lewis exactly what the issue was with my fridge and he said it was not a problem. He knew he was never going to fix it before he came up for his £90 call out fee. Sad as he seemed like a decent chap and now if you Google his name this thread comes up.
Same standard of work. Said he'd fixed our washing maschene and 'Adjusted the bushes' Yeh right never even took it apart and didnt find out till I returned home having paid him.
Lewis is a scam artist, avoid, same story as the others on this page, called out to fix an appliance, said he needed to order a part, stupidly I paid him up front, now can't get hold of him.
Please read the other 1 star reviews - seems to be a trend in that you will get Lewis out to attend and tell you you need a part and he will be back in a few days. Then he asks for payment and then disappears completely. Have raised the issue with HMRC as he requests payments for his business into his personal account so it’s only fair if he’s scamming the southwest that he is made to pay tax on it!
Very disappointed to have been scammed here but hopefully this review and the others that have said the same thing help you to avoid Lewis at all costs. You will lose your money and still have a broken appliance
I wish I read these reviews before getting Lewis to look at my dishwasher. I paid £80 odd for a call-out charge and he took ages to 'get the part' after ignoring me. I waited weeks and he didn't reply to my texts. Still no dishwasher all over Christmas, and then he said he found it and was due to come out in the second week of January. I got so fed up chasing him to no avail that I bought a new one. So he got £80 call-out and didn't bother helping us at all. Don't bother with him; he's a liar and fake!
Is DOMESTECH APPLIANCE REPAIR a trustworthy company?
If I could give this guy negative stars, I would. Lewis James Bailey (Domestech) of 102 Eastland Road, Yeovil, England, BA21 4EY (according to compaines house), took my money, didn't repair my dishwasher and has since ghosted me since September. Avoid like the plague!
Avoid avoid avoid. Lewis came and fitted a new door seal, charged me £160. Fitted it wrong and came of within 10 days. Now not answering my calls and messages. Have had to buy new machine. Complete con artist!! He’s not even worth 1 star
The same has happened to me paid upfront and twice has told me he’s on his way and not turned up.Definitely would never recommend or use him again .
Lewis Bailey did similar to me
Lewis took payment of over £120 for a part which didn't not resolve the issue I was having with my cooker. Has since completely ignored multiple messages and phone calls requesting a refund. Please do not use.
Very dissatisfied and virtually impossible to get hold of. Paid for labour up front but our appliance was never fixed and now impossible to get hold of this person. Would definitely not recommend and will never use again.
