- we are a residential home located in the heart of Barry, south Wales, and we are looking for a compassionate and experienced residential support worker to become part of our Bank Staff / Casual Worker team
- to keep up to date and comply with government guidance and legislation
- our home uses a therapeutic model of care, and experience in this area would be a definite advantage. You will be working closely with children, ensuring that they receive the best care and support possible
- put young persons and children at the centre of all care provided. This includes involving them in all the decisions and choices about them
- attend to young person's and children's needs. This includes physical, emotional, and social needs to promote their development. It also includes specific needs such as dietary, language or religious activities
- to report any concerns or suspicions of bad practice or any other issues immediately
- always observe confidentiality in relation to the home and its residents, recognizing the vulnerability of the residents

Requirements
- hold the Right to Work in the UK
- possess an enhanced DBS certificate registered with an online update service or be willing to process a new application
- excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

- at least 1 year experience of working in a children's residential home
- A passion for helping others and a willingness to go above and beyond to make a positive difference
- experience is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided
- ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- be willing to participate in further training where required
- all mandatory courses can be provided free by Ty Caredig ltd
- residential Childcare: 1 year
- QCF Level 2 in Children and Young People Residential Care is desirable or be willing to work towards Level 2, for which you will be provided training
- physically fit and active, able to use team teach de-escalation and intervention techniques
