Responsibility
- program and maintain Fanuc robot arms and Kemppi weld sets to perform consistent and efficient welding operations
- optimise processes, tool paths and welding parameters to improve overall productivity, whilst reducing scrap and rework
- troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to robotic welding systems
- train and mentor robot system operators on new and existing jobs, as well as routine maintenance and safety procedures
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions
- ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols during welding operations
- collaborate with the engineering/production teams to develop welding procedures and techniques, to ensure internal quality expectations are met and production capacity is increased
- conduct regular inspection to ensure compliance with internal specifications, reduce rework rates and meet the structural/visual performance expectations of staff, dealers and end users
Requirements
- proven experience as a robot engineer or programmer, producing welding programs in a manufacturing environment
- proficiency in programming and operating robotic welding systems
- an understanding of robot touch sensing, to offset taught points to accommodate variable geometry
- A solid understanding of welding principles, techniques and metallurgy
- familiarity with ubiquitous welding symbols and standards
- ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- robust problem-solving skills and attention to detail
