teaching assistant
Responsibility
- provide targeted support for pupils with high levels of emotional or behavioural needs
- support students with SEMH needs in both one-to-one and group settings
- help implement individual behaviour plans and positive handling strategies
- assist the teacher in implementing individual behaviour management plans and tailored interventions
- foster positive relationships to build trust and encourage engagement
- promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation in the classroom
- provide emotional support and encouragement to students facing challenges
- support classroom routines, transitions, and structured activities
Requirements
- previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
- strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies
- ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- passion for supporting students with emotional and mental health challenges to succeed
- behaviour management: 1 year
