Responsibility
- support the staff team in providing a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow in
- oversee the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, ensuring that all children's individual needs are met
- ensure that policies and procedures are followed, including health and safety regulations and safeguarding requirements
- build positive relationships with parents/carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and involving them in their child's learning journey
- support the Nursery Manager in managing staff, including carrying out regular supervisions and appraisals, and identifying training and development needs
- assist the Preschool Manager in managing the daily operations of the preschool, ensuring that high standards of care and education are delivered to all children
- the post holder is also expected to be flexible and adaptable in their approach to fulfilling their duties
- this job description is not an exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties discussed and directed by the Manager or Trustees
Requirements
- level 3 Early Years qualification
- proven experience in a similar role
- sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and Ofsted requirements
- excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, parents/carers and external professionals
- strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of staff
- A commitment to providing high-quality care and education to all children
- A positive and enthusiastic approach to work, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
