compliance manager
Responsibility
- assist in the preparation of the annual compliance monitoring plan and compliance risk assessment
- support the Senior Compliance Manager in delivering the Compliance strategy, compliance monitoring plan and associated policies to drive, promote and maintain a strong Compliance and Financial Crime culture within the business
- support the Senior Compliance Manager in the preparation of clear and concise compliance reports and recommendations to UKIB’s Executive Committees, Board and Board sub-committees to ensure compliance with current and future regulations
- act as a trusted partner with key stakeholders across the Bank to identify, assess, update and mitigate risks and determine appropriate controls and resources required to effectively control them
- act as a subject matter expert on existing regulatory compliance requirements affecting UKIB, conduct horizon scanning and proactively providing advice and guidance to the Business on new projects, transactions, policy requirements and other initiatives to ensure they are within the risk and compliance appetite and in accordance with relevant laws, standards and codes of practice
- support the risk management of market abuse and maintain Insider Lists, conflicts of interest and gifts and hospitality registers, providing advice and guidance to ensure adherence to market regulations
- deliver and ensure the completion of suitable learning and development programmes for all UKIB employees to promote a culture of good conduct and compliance throughout UKIB
- conduct internal compliance reviews, investigations into breaches and suspected market abuse or insider trading, and monitoring activities, covering front and back office functions, and ensure all actions from audits and reviews, including internal and regulatory reviews, are implemented
Requirements
- previous experience of working within a compliance function within a financial services environment
- able to communicate with credibility with senior management
- educated to degree level with professional qualification such as ICA, IIA, ACCA, ACA
- good presentation skills and ability to present to various audiences including committees and senior management
- regulatory compliance monitoring and advisory experience
- excellent communication, listening, and writing skills
- experience within investment banking and/or infrastructure finance environment is preferable
- pragmatic and comfortable working with ambiguity
