THE COMMUNITY COURT YARD is looking for employees for positions:

support worker

Responsibility

  • lead events for children, young people and their communities in a variety of settings
  • lead and participate in reflective debriefs of session delivery
  • demonstrate awareness and understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs
  • ensure that safeguarding is placed at the forefront of the programmes, events and activities the are delivered in all settings
  • lead delivery of programmes of activity for groups of children, young people and their families at The Yard, within community settings and on the streets (outreach / detached
  • ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of self and other persons, and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the department
  • carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post

Requirements

  • experience as a youth worker in groups or in a related post
  • an understanding of key aspects of the lives of disadvantaged communities and young people
  • experience of planning a range of accessible sessions for young people and communities
  • an understanding of social education and issues based work, and the ability to further develop skills in this area
  • an understanding of the diverse community in Northamptonshire
  • experience of planning and facilitating group sessions for communities and young people
  • an understanding of what meaningful participation means for disadvantaged communities
  • A good working knowledge of safeguarding reporting and procedures
