Responsibility
- processing and grading eggs in either the 16,000 unit or both units totalling 32000 birds
- assess the physical and behavioural needs of animals in either or both units ensuring they receive appropriate care and attention
- develop and implement enrichment programmes each week that promote positive behaviours and mental stimulation for animals
- conduct regular health checks and monitor the wellbeing of animals, reporting any concerns to managers and veterinary staff as necessary
- maintain records, including daily production, health assessments and behavioural observations
Requirements
- A genuine passion for animal welfare
- strong observational skills to identify changes in behaviour or health issues promptly
- excellent communication skills for interacting with team members
- ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate must be comfortable to work by themselves
- knowledge of animal behaviour and welfare standards is advantageous
- flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends as required by the role
