swimming teacher
Requirements
- level 2 qualification in teaching swimming
- level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Pre School qualification
- lifeguard/Water Rescue Certificate
- at least 2 years’ experience working as a Swimming Teacher
- HSE recognized First Aid qualification
- knowledge of lifesaving methods and procedures, including first aid and standard resuscitation measures
- good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with fellow colleagues and members of the public
- to be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others
Responsibility
- delivering safe, high quality, progressive swimming lessons appropriate to the level of class and individual
- identifying individual’s needs and ensure these needs are met, providing additional support as required
- communicate effectively and regularly with the swim teacher manager to ensure the smooth running of the Swim School
- communicate regularly with all teaching staff to ensure the smooth running of the Swim School
- lesson planning, setting up and down of equipment, open and close down procedures
- ensuring that all equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use
- ensure that swimming lessons operate within the Swim School Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plan and in line with the risk assessment controls
- ensure sessions run to time
