Responsibility
- assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and other treatments
- prepare the treatment room and dental instruments for each patient, ensuring proper sterilisation and compliance with infection control protocols
- record and update patient dental records, including medical history, treatment plans, and clinical notes
- provide chairside support, including mixing materials and maintaining a clear operating field
- offer guidance and reassurance to patients, addressing any concerns and helping them feel at ease during their visit
- manage dental supplies within your surgery
- coordinate with the dental team to optimise appointment schedules and ensure efficient patient flow
- participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- valid dental nursing qualification
- current registration with the General Dental Council
- previous experience as a dental nurse is preferred
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- proficiency in dental practice management software
- knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols
- ability to maintain a professional and empathetic demeanour under pressure
