Requirements

  • level 3 childcare/ teaching assistant/ supporting learning and development
  • previous experience working with young children and a strong understanding of early childhood development
  • empathy, patience, and a genuine dedication to helping children succeed
  • level 3 Teaching Assistant/ Childcare – Applications lacking the necessary qualifications will not be taken into consideration
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • A collaborative and adaptable mindset, with the ability to work as part of a team
  • A commitment to promoting the well-being and safeguarding of all children
  • knowledge of SEN practices and strategies is advantageous but not mandatory

Responsibility

  • provide one-on-one and small group support to children with special educational needs within the EYFS setting
  • adapt and differentiate learning activities to cater to the diverse abilities and learning styles of the children
  • foster a nurturing and positive classroom atmosphere that promotes social and emotional development
  • assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and individualized support strategies
  • observe and document children's progress, sharing findings with the teaching team and parents when necessary
  • encourage independence and self-confidence in children while helping them develop essential early skills
  • collaborate closely with EYFS teachers and SENCo to create an inclusive learning environment that supports the individual needs of all children
  • support children with special needs in their daily routines and transitions within the EYFS setting
