support worker
Responsibility
- you will use your people skills to make vulnerable service users feel safe enough to travel with you
- this could be from the service user's house to a hospital, from hospital to another hospital, or even hospital to appointments
- no two days are the same
- you will generally take it in turns to drive and be in the back sitting with the service user
- when we get called out, you will collect a vehicle from base before mobilising to the job
- most of our jobs are urgent collections, meaning we need to mobilise immediately
- day-to-day you will collect and drop off service users with mental health issues all across the country, with support from your colleagues
- comfortable that this role starts as self-employed, as discussed further below in detail
Requirements
- you hold a full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points, and no non-speeding driving convictions
- you have your own transport to get to and from work
- you are twenty-five or over for our vehicle policy cover
- you are comfortable working on-call for a FULL 24-hour period on 4 days of the week
- you are comfortable working lengthy, unpredictable, spontaneous, and unsocial hours - this job will definitely involve working nights and weekends
- you have prior professional experience dealing with the public, or within a relatable role
