Responsibility

  • as a Specialist Functional Skills Tutor you will guide and support the learner right throughout their journey
  • you will
  • implement a Personal Learning Plan with each apprentice, regularly monitoring, reviewing, evaluating and adjusting the Personal Learning Plan when necessary
  • work alongside the Quality Manager to develop a high-quality functional skills curriculum
  • prepare and adapt teaching materials including handouts and assessment papers, to enable all apprentices to progress
  • create new learning material to meet the needs of the apprentice
  • produce and deliver appropriate individual and group teaching to achieve the Personal Training Plan
  • use the Diagnostic Assessment tool to assess levels of competency within maths and English and plan a program of delivery
