previous experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role preferred
knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
familiarity with restaurant kitchen operations and equipment
strong understanding of pastry techniques and baking principles
preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, etc; Developing new and exciting desserts to renew the bakery’s menus and engage the interest of customers; Creating new ideas and items for the Pastry Kitchen; Ensuring excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings; Decorating pastries and desserts using different types of icings, toppings; ensuring the food presentation is beautiful and exciting; Coordinating activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation; Supervising and coordinating all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation; Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met; Assisting in determining how food should be presented and creating decorative food displays; Monitoring stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc

and making appropriate orders within budget; Reporting all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to the supervisor immediately; Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards
