Responsibility
- supervises the preparation of all section dishes; ensuring quality is consistent and to a high standard
- monitor stock and par levels in section and advise what stock is needed
- works with the Executive Head Chef/ Head Chef to maintain good kitchen processes, stock & wastage control
- manage & monitor safe use of equipment
- assist in the development of new menus with revenue and profit potential in mind
- closely monitor the health and safety of the kitchen environment and ensure we are fully compliant
- setting up the kitchen prior to a restaurant’s opening
- ensures a first in, first out food rotation system and ensures all food products are properly date and organised for quality assurance
Requirements
- level 2 food hygiene certificate. Level 2 Allergy Awareness certificate. Ideally you will hold a driving licence due to our location
- minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Commis Chef or Junior Chef De Partie
- A clear passion for food, with a desire to progress within the industry
- ability to grasp and follow the Executive Head Chef/ Head Chef’s culinary instructions
- experience of creating profitable, creative and unique menu items
- exceptional organisation skills, with the ability to juggle a demanding workload
- knowledge of how to maintain and care for culinary utensils & equipment
- ability to work under pressure through rapid deadlines
