finance manager
Responsibility
- oversee monthly reconciliation of accounts from our teams in Malawi
- work in partnership with the UK Administrator to ensure that all expenditure is accurately entered onto Xero
- support the UK team in the gathering of financial data to enable timely completion of all statutory returns
- support the CEO and Malawian Country Director with the annual budget setting process
- support the CEO and UK team with provision of expenditure for project reports
- liaise with external auditors to provide any necessary information at year end for audited accounts
- transfer money from our UK bank to our Malawi bank as required
- work in partnership with the CEO and Malawian Country Director to send monthly payments in advance to Malawi for project costs
Requirements
- working experience of using Xero accounting software, or similar
- availability to spend time in Malawi ensuring that our accounting practices are being carried out effectively by our Malawi teams
- an ability to analyse and interpret financial and project data
- attention to detail and an analytical mind
- ability to work as part of a team, to work independently and to think laterally and creatively
- excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- ability to communicate effectively with staff and external bodies at all levels
- proactive with a positive can-do attitude and sense of fun
