Responsibility
- you will be supported by the nursery's housekeeper for parts of the day
- puddle Jumpers Nursery based in Limehouse is looking for an experienced Nursery Cook who is a passionate foodie, hard-working and reliable to join our team
- food and nutrition is a core part of our ethos and we passionately believe in promoting a healthy lifestyle across the nursery
- meal times are a big part of our day and we feel that it’s not just about what we eat but is an opportunity to champion the importance of a well balanced diet and help shape the future eating habits of our children
- we have worked with renowned Early Year’s Nutritionist Laura Matthews to create an inspiring and nutritionally balanced menu that you will need to follow
- the ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a nursery kitchen and be comfortable with cooking for over 60 children each day
- ensuring that all documentation pertaining to the kitchen is current and can speak confidentially to inspectors on their yearly inspections
- any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager and Nursery
Requirements
- food & Hygiene qualification- L2 and above
- A professional catering qualification is desirable
- proven experience with allergies and special dietary requirements is essential
- have an understanding of children's nutritional needs, development stages and portion sizes
- naturally passionate about healthy eating
- have a ‘can do’ attitude
- previous experience in both a commercial and nursery kitchen
