In my experience, the culture felt toxic from the top down. Day to day, I found the atmosphere draining, with my role often changing on a whim, with little genuine support for remote staff and work/home boundaries too often blurred. Over the years I saw too many colleagues struggle to cope. Some talented people were either pushed out or chose to leave. Everyone I know who has left has moved on to better roles where they feel valued, respected and supported, with clear job descriptions and expectations and a healthy work/life balance – everything I felt was lacking here. In my opinion, this was the least supportive workplace I’ve ever been part of. The behaviour I observed and experienced from some in senior roles struck me as most unpleasant. I don’t expect the culture to change any time soon – in my view, the problems come from the top.
