Responsibility

• lead and manage financial accounting, reporting, and analysis activities, ensuring strict adherence to UK accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and internal policies
• day-to-day management of finance and finance team based in Southend-on-Sea
• drive the implementation of CRM, pay & bill, and accountancy systems, optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy aligned with company objectives

• management accounts preparation and group consolidation
• generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing comprehensive analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management
• oversee cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making
• direct the recruitment, development, and management of the finance team, fostering a high-performing and skilled workforce
• collaborate cross-functionally to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiencies
• conduct comprehensive financial risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks
• manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and oversee audit processes effectively

Requirements

• qualified accountant with a profound understanding of UK GAAP and regulatory frameworks
• two-three years minimum post-qualification experience
• proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within the UK, demonstrating success in financial management and implementing new systems

• strong leadership, managerial, and interpersonal skills with the capability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders

• experience with Xero, Sage, and other financial software and ERP systems
