CIH Professional qualification Level 3 or equivalent
membership of CIH
minimum three years in Housing Revenue or Income collection/recovery
extensive understanding of debt recovery processes across tenures

Responsibility
this role involves proactive early identification of tenants’ difficulties in meeting housing costs and intervening to minimize debt levels while maximizing housing revenue streams
service Development: Support service leadership in developing initiatives to empower customers, sustain tenancies, and prevent homelessness
main Purpose:To work in partnership and collaboration, engaging and supporting service users to meet their rental obligations and sustain their legal agreements with the Council
referrals and Support: Make referrals and collaborate closely with relevant colleagues for complex support needs beyond the role's scope
debt Management: Intervene early to minimize tenant arrears and maximize housing revenue streams. Prioritize proactive engagement and employ a full range of contact, support, and enforcement techniques directed by the Housing Revenue Manager
repayment Management: Negotiate and ensure affordable repayment arrangements, taking robust action when necessary
tenancy Sustainment: Collaborate with the Neighbourhood and Tenancy Team to sustain tenancies. Focus primarily on collecting housing revenue and recovering housing-related debts
