It's no wonder why 7 staff members from different departments all handed in their notice at the same time, here’s why…
Working for Orida for nearly 2 years was the worst job experience I’ve ever had, very poor management, even higher up, supervisors abusing their ‘powers’, GM all about money and not giving anything back to the staff that work hard.
For example, when we changed from a much better, well organized and cared for Hilton to Orida, the new GM stated if we used up all our gym memberships cards, we’d all received a big bonus, 3 months later all cards were used, and he back tracked on his promise.
A club supervisor who multiple times got reported to HR for bullying a member of staff with plenty of proof, did not receive any backlash, and as far as the victim is aware it was just brushed under the rug, not even a single apology.
Due to Orida not making enough money (not surprised), they had 2 gym instructors choose who had to leave and who was allowed to stay, due to them both wanting to stay, it came down to points, the staff member who they chose to leave was only because they used 4 sick days due to having COVID-19 while it was the law to not go to work while having it. Not to mention the staff member they kept admitted in the meeting he had been looking for a new job and applying for months and was still actively looking and still chose to keep him. So where is the loyalty?
Managers, HOD’s all slagging past staff members to the public and people attending events and courses ran in the building, a name I specifically want to mention is (deleted by the administrator). A silly jobs worth who was always getting involved in people business that has nothing to do with him, a sales manager who I rarely saw, was the first to slag me off as soon as I left. And the number of previous staff he used to slag off before me is unreal.
And (deleted by the administrator), the old club manager now demoted to dep manager (not surprised), he is a walking pack of lies, just says what guests/members want to hear but never went through with any of it, and would leave the backlash for the rest of us to deal with, the weakest manager I have had, scared to tell a 14 year old he isn’t old enough to use the gym equipment.
They advertise free staff meals, that’s all good and well if you want to eat green fried eggs, unused, out of date sandwiches from past events and chicken that gives hotel guests food poisoning.
Member of staff was promised to become late shift supervisor, due to time of work, knowledge in the department and every shift was a late, 2 weeks later was told he had to leave due to money issues in the hotel.
Conclusion:
If you want broken promises made to you, zero progression, deal with rude hotel guests and members of staff, eat dirty, old, out-of-date poisoning food, and they get told you’re leaving because the hotel is making any profit. Then this is the perfect job for you.
The worst part of what you say, is that despite of reports, they still do nothing about that. The awareness about what mobbing should be much higher nowadays.. Can you see any place for a change? I was thinking about applying there
Do you know any employer in Westerham that pays well?
