Responsibility
- assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals
- administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
- perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while maintaining accurate records
- monitor animal patients pre- and post-operatively, observing vital signs and reporting any changes
- maintain cleanliness and organisation within the clinic, including sterilisation of instruments and equipment
- provide education to pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and health maintenance for their animals
- handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments
- assist with the management of inventory, ensuring that medical supplies are adequately stocked
Requirements
- qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant certification or diploma
- experience in a veterinary practice is preferred but not essential; new graduates are welcome to apply
- familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is advantageous
- strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals and their welfare
- willingness to participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
