I am documenting in regards the Tshabalala Funetal Palour in Bulawayo .. Zimbabwe

I could not understand why we were not allowed be present when our loved one was having her last wash and being dressed . As a result there was no attention to detail . The body was done in a very mediocre manner .. hair was standing on end .. , head tilted to the side . The work was , in my eyes very amateurish The morticians are they trained .? Why do they suture corpses’ mouths where there is no need .My niece ‘s mouth was perfectly closed when we saw the body and suturing her mouth absolutely disfigured her !That suturing was i totally uncalled for . Are these “morticians” trained ?
Nyaradzo makes a lot of money and they ought to invest some in training these people , This job they do should be done with pride , with finesse and respect on behalf of a grieving family . The corpse ought to be made as near norma to the person they were as is possible !!
I asked for make up to be applied on her face , but lo and behold , wrong foundation for her colouring was used and a lip gloss that was so wrong for her ! Of course, Mr Mortician declined to take the make up I had brought .
For that reason they ought to allow families to see their loved one’s body , prior to presenting it to the general public for body viewing . The trouble , I realised , wad the attitude of that man .
The lady who completed the paper work with us wad lovely , caring and empathetic , but not man who was literally throwing us out of the room!
They need to be educated on customer care , working with families , with respect and empathy ! To listen to the wishes of families !
