Education

provide support and supervision to training nursing associates, healthcare assistants, apprentices, and those on learning assignments/placements as required
comply with all organisational and statutory requirements
participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development
engages in developing objectives to inform a Personal Development Plan, supports practice staff and responds to requests for advice and assistance. Complete all mandatory and statutory training required by the role
undertakes additional training where necessary to provide enhanced services and participate in training programmes implemented by the PCN/practices as part of this employment
demonstrates an understanding of current educational policies relevant to working areas of practice and keeps up to date with relevant clinical practice
Requirements
to undertake administration of prescribed medicines via IM, SC routes, following competency-based training and practice policy
to undertake the collection of pathological & microbiology specimens including venepuncture, swabs, urine culture in line with local guidelines
to assist and perform routine nursing tasks related to patient care, such as blood pressure checks, routine diabetic foot checks, inhaler technique checks, immunisations, BMI lifestyle and advice, as directed and agreed with line manager, registered general nurses and GPs
to support patients to improve and maintain their mental, physical, behavioural health and well-being by using behaviour change interventions, such as undertaking health checks
attend and participate in practice and care Home MDTs when appropriate
following training and competency assessment, to undertake adult and child NHS immunisation programmes and ensure vaccines/injections are administrated under the appropriate legal framework
to support chronic disease management including but not limited to monitoring patients with stable asthma, COPD and undertaking preliminary investigations for Type 2 diabetes patients and heart disease, such as urinalysis and arranging ECGs
we are seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised Nursing Associate to work within Barrow & Millom PCN. You will be able to develop strong relationships across our practices, with scope to work from practices and conduct home visits as required
